On Monday, May 31, we enjoyed lunch outdoors in a charming little park with a lovely fountain. I captured the small town sounds in this brief Quicktime audio recording (22 kilobytes) with photo that you can download and enjoy.
We then took a gondola up to the top of the mountain. Even on May 31, the temperature at that elevation was sufficiently cold to allow for snow.
It was great fun playing in the snow. Here is a photograph of Kathleen threatening me with a snowball.
Mittenwald is near the Austrian border so we were able to take a picture of our hosts straddling the two countries.
