Our trip to India began on December 19, 1997. We drove to JFK Airport in New York only to find our flight was cancelled due to a mechanical problem. British Airways put us up in a lovely little Greenwich Village hotel for the night and we got underway the next day. Our travel agent, Mercury Travel, did a nice job of rearranging our vacation due to the delay. We arrived in Delhi in the early morning (around 1 AM Delhi time) of Monday December 22nd.
